Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Yoga Massage:

Thai Massage, also known as Thai Yoga Massage, or “lazy man’s yoga,” uses ancient stretching and massage techniques to leave you feeling flexible, free, and relaxed.

Thai Massage is performed with the client wearing comfortable, stretchy clothing and is traditionally done on a cushioned floor mat, but it can also be adapted for the massage table. In contrast to Swedish Massage, which is characterized by long, gliding strokes across the skin with oil or cream, Thai uses more movement of the body, ergonomically using the therapist’s own body to apply traction, weight, or support, and utilizes rocking, rotating, plucking, circular strokes, and does not require the use of any oil or cream. Great for those who want to include more stretching in their routines, athletes, and those who aren’t comfortable removing clothing for massage. Clients should dress comfortably, in clothes suitable for exercise (i.e. no jeans or restrictive garments.) Great for people of any level of flexibility wishing to regain or improve their range of motion. Depth of stretching will be customized to each client’s particular physical needs and limitations for a gentle challenge and to prevent injury.
